Lies Van Houdt just released her debut single 'Lost' feat. Day Brake. The track was originally made for a Rob Scallon contest for using his 'Riff That Got Away' in an original tune.

This contest fell during de herexamens blok when Day Brake's family (including Lies) was on vacation aan de zee. After his exam, he wrote, recorded and roughly mixed the track. He packed his recording gear and took the train to de zee. By the time he arrived he had finished the lyrics.

"He wrote the lyrics on the train, what a crazy bastard!"

Thereafter Lies and Day Brake recorded the vocals and recorded a video clip aant zeetje. This is what they have to say about this release:

Day Brake: "Everytime I hear this track, it reminds me of summer, sun, the sea, good times and family. I had a great time being alone for two days with only my recording gear and guitar, to then head off on vacation. It feels nostalgic thinking about that period, although it was only last summer (laughs very loud)"

"I had a great time being alone [..]"

Lies: "Lost makes me think back to times at the Belgian coast, because that's were we wrote and filmed the song. That's also what it's about, looking back at good memories. It's a place that makes me very happy and nostalgic and I think the song really displays that vibe."
