Mollebol
Didier Mellaerts is a photographer/writer who works under the psuedonym mollebol. His photography and writing show similarities although their respective themes are very different. Both are not artistically motivated but just mediums to encapsulate a given moment which is truly his. Through writing he revisits thoughts to reflect upon them at a later time and his photos exist as visuals of his most cherished experiences.
In late 2017, he found a beat up Nikon point & shoot from his attic and started messing around with it. Analog photography sparked his interest and so eventually he started using a fully mechanical camera, which gave him complete control. He is still experimenting and learning more every day so he has no distinguished style yet, but his current work can be described as a series of simple snapshots of memorable moments. Info about Didier's writing can be found here.
He is mostly influenced by Nouvelle Vague cinema, Belgian anti-fashion, proto- and post-punk bands like Television and Gang of Four, classic literature and 20th century French philosophy. Other than that, he is very eager to spread his horizon, so be sure to send him all your book, art, movie or song recommendations either through Facebook or Instagram.
