Mollebol

Didier Mellaerts is a photographer/writer who works under the psuedonym mollebol. His photography and writing show similarities although their respective themes are very different. Both are not artistically motivated but just mediums to encapsulate a given moment which is truly his. Through writing he revisits thoughts to reflect upon them at a later time and his photos exist as visuals of his most cherished experiences.

His style of writing is inspired by the French poètes maudits Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud and his poems mostly consist of melancholic ramblings about romance and existential dread. He writes in Dutch, English, French and Spanish. Read more about Didier's photography here.

He is mostly influenced by Nouvelle Vague cinema, Belgian anti-fashion, proto- and post-punk bands like Television and Gang of Four, classic literature and 20th century French philosophy. Other than that, he is very eager to spread his horizon, so be sure to send him all your book, art, movie or song recommendations either through Facebook or Instagram.
